TMC, a LinQuest company is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team at our office in Las Cruces, NM.
US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
This internship will span from June 1, 2024, through August 31, 2024, with the potential to go part time past this period.
The Mechanical Engineering Intern will be responsible as a part-time College/University ME student for beginning/entry level engineering of mechanical systems.
This includes but is not limited to mechanical design, Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), component integration, customer/vendor communication, and documentation.
**This internship opportunity may be eligible for remote work.
** Responsibilities: Learn details of and function within cross-functional engineering teams.
Update drawings by utilizing appropriate design, and revision, procedures.
Research and identify new mechanical parts, components, and materials.
Support IR&D, general design analyses, and design validation efforts.
Design documentation support and design review preparations.
Provide support to Engineering during onsite or remote system integration efforts.
Manage data, including test results, Bills-of-Material, quotations, drawings, technical data sheets, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience: Aptitude to obtain competency in using measuring tools; calipers, micrometers, and measuring tape.
Very detail oriented and thorough in daily work activities.
Customer skills and customer focus (both internal and external customers).
Good analytical skills.
Ability to work as part of an integrated team.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize both daily issues.
You must be a college student in good standing, enrolled in a 4-year university in your Senior year (preferably graduating in Summer 2024, Fall 2024 or Winter 2024).
Pursing a Bachelors degree in (Computer Science or Engineering).
You must have a minimum college GPA requirement of 3.
00 on a 4.
00 scale.
If you are selected for an internship, you must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.
00 after each completed semester/term.

Preferred Skills and Experience: Good communication skills including both written and verbal skills.
Excellent computer skills, including skill in Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new software.

Ability to perform manufacturing tasks (light fabrication, assembly, etc.
).
Able to work summers and part-time while attending school - 40+ hours summer/20 hours fall/spring minimum per week.
