The primary responsibility of the Equipment Operator is to safely, effectively and expeditiously move materials from a tipping area to containers, transfer trailers and sorting lines.

Safely and effectively move materials from tipping area to containers, transfer trailers or sorting lines with minimal downtime.
Perform daily pre and post trip inspections of equipment and timely report any areas of concern.
Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
Monitor waste for signs of potential safety hazards.
Observe and comply with all applicable safety regulations, rules, policies and procedures.
Participate in external, Department and Company-wide trainings to increase skill sets and improve service.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of:
· Heavy equipment operation.
· Federal, state and local job site health and safety rules, regulations and best practices.
Ability to:
· Operate machinery in tight, congested areas, while prioritizing safety.
· Maintain a positive attitude with coworkers, customers and members of the general public.
· Proactively establish trust and credibility with coworkers by maintaining accountability.
· Contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support and collaboration amongst coworkers.
· Take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking.
· Effectively and concisely communicate verbally and in writing.
Education, Training & Experience
High School diploma or GED preferred.
Preferred three years of related experience using skip loaders required.
Experience in the resource recovery industry a plus.
Certification a plus.
